"CROWN THE QUEEN"
RULES OF PLAY
1. Three games constitute a "Rubber." The winner being the player who has scored the highest number of points in the Rubber (i.e., total of three games).
2. A "game" is completed when:
(a) One player has presented the Queen for crowning (completed his procession.)
or
(b) The last card of the centre pack has been taken.
3. Each player is dealt three cards and the remainder of the pack is placed face downwards in the centre of the table.
4. Players look at their cards and the one on the left of the dealer takes the top card from the centre pack. He then sees if he has a POLICE card in his hand. If so he can start the preparations for his procession immediately by laying this card on the table in front of him, face upwards. Each player makes his own procession. There are eight cards in a complete procession. If he has no POLICE card he passes one card, face downwards, to the next player.
5. If he has been able to play a POLICE card he takes another card from the centre pack and, if able, plays a FORCES card on to his procession and so on. When unable to add to his procession he passes any one card, face downwards, to the next player, leaving himself with three cards as at first.
6. The game continues, each player receiving one card from the previous player before he plays.
7. A player may, if he so wishes, place the card handed to him by the previous player upwards in the centre of the table and take instead one from the original centre pack. Players may not draw from the face-upwards pack.
8. Cards must be placed in a line in the following order:
1—Policeman.
1—of each, Soldier, Sailor, Airman (in any order).
1—Royal Coach.
1—Page.
1—Archbishop.
1—QUEEN.
9. Each processional card placed in front of a player scores 10 points and the QUEEN'S card scores 30 points, giving a maximum of 100 points per game.
10. Flags, Buildings, Coat of Arms, Trumpeter cards are of no value as they are not included in the procession.
Suggestion.—The game is more realistic if all players cheer as a card is played, louder and louder nearing the end of the procession.
