BLACK-OUT

by KARDONIA LTD.,

BLACK-OUT

The Topical Card Game

The pack of black-out consists of the following six series of cards : — silhouettes, fashions, searchlights, views, lights, and black-out. All cards are numbered as well as being in a series.

For two or three players six cards each are dealt, and five cards only if there are four or five players. The rest of the pack is placed on the table, the top card being exposed.

The player on the left of the dealer begins play and does so by placing a card in front of himself. The other players follow in turn, also putting a card in front of themselves. When it is the turn of the first player again, he puts a card on top of the one already in front of him, and play goes on all round in this way. Each player builds up his own pile.

The follow-on card put down must either be of the same series or the same number as the one before it.

When one player clears his cards the numbers in each pile are added up, and a new hand is started. The cards left with the other players when the hand is closed are of no value. The player with a score of 200 or over wins the game.

The BLACK-OUT cards are important ones to hold for they can be turned to the advantage of a player. A person having a black-out card may, instead of putting a card on his own pile, put a black-out card in the pile of an opponent, who is thereby " blacked-out." This means that the opponent cannot put any more cards on his own pile, and when it is his turn he must follow on with a card on someone else's pile.

A player may "black-out" any opponent he wishes.

If a player is unable to go he must pick up a card from the pack and lose a turn when doing so.
