There and Back Again
by Maxfield Bush

The Game of "There and Back" by Maxfield Bush is played by two or more players who, in turn, place one card beneath another in step-like form linking its first letters or letter with the last letters or letter of the card above it. The cards for this game take the form of the old style railway ticket with the name of the destination on them. The aim of each player is to finally play a card which links up with the first card played. This move is called "There and Back" and it wins the game with full points, if a player disposes of all cards held the " There and Back " move can be forestalled.

Trains
by Pepys

This card game Pepys, endorsed by Ian Allan, was issued in 1962 is a wonderful railway deck of cards, with nice artwork and colouring, depicting many famous trains. Players race to complete a train journey by "traveling" the exact distances shown on their route card. An example route would be King's Cross to Edinburgh, calling at Peterborough, Grantham, York, and Newcastle. The distances between the stations are shown on the route card. Players must play combinations of distance cards to match the required distance, followed by the appropriate station card, all the way from one end of their route to the other.

Ian Allan Publishing was started during the second world war in 1942 to produce books for train enthusiasts. Today they are a large company who specialise in magazines and books about transport.
