Gipsy Fortune Telling Cards This game was produced about 1920 by Thomas De La Rue although according to the rule booklet it was made by H. P. Gibson & Sons. This might mean that the game was originally produced Gibson's "International Series", it was this company that Harry Gibson sold to Thomas De La Rue in 1919. The pack consists of 33 cards, 32 of which are reproductions of the original drawings by Hylton Cock and the 33rd card is blank, representing the person whose fortune is being told.

Goal! This Soccer Card Game by Pepys (1st Edition - shows the 1959/60 season) is an expanded revised version of the 1940s card game IT'S A GOAL also by Pepys. Each card shows soccer players in their club colours, club name, nickname, crest and ground. The lovely art and colouring showing the footballers of the Scottish and English divisions in action. You have to place the cards you get to make attacks on your opponents goal. 3 cards are needed to make up a defensive or attacking formation. Goalkeeper cards and free kick cards can help to upset the balance of your opponent's plays. The second edition of this game shows the 1964/65 season is the same as the 1st Edition the only differences are in the cards for Bristol Rovers (5), Celtic (3), Please note: The box for this game has 2nd EDITION on the back bottom left corner and the picture on the front is different. |

Golliwogg This game consisting of 48 pictorial cards depicting the wonderful designs of Golliwogg, Sarah Jane, Peg, Weg, Midget, as well as other famous characters and scenes from the Golliwogg books by Florence K. & Bertha Upton (by special arrangement with Messrs. Longmans, Green & Co) and is printed by Thomas De La Rue. There are 16 sets each (marked with a number from 1 - 16) with 3 cards to a set. Each set has a lead card with a note above the "Find Peg and Sarah Jane". The object of the game is to collect as many sets as possible.

CRICKET PLAYING CARD GAME This card cricket game was produced by Smith and Hallam Ltd in the 1950s has 98 cards divided into 2 sections: 'Batting Cards' and 'Bowling Cards'. The Batting Cards with blue backs have: The Bowling pack with green backs have: The game can be played by one person (Patience Googly) to 23 players (2 teams of 11 plus a scorer) and you do not have to be a cricketer to play. There is also some score sheets (but usually these have been filled in by previous owners). "Googly" is based upon a game of cricket. Matches should have 2 innings each side, the winner being the side which has scored the most runs after 4 completed innings, or has dismissed its opponents twice for a small score. |

Grandfather's Whiskers This game has 48 cards, it can be played by 2 or more people and was produced by John Waddington Ltd in the 1930s. It is advertised as 3 games in 1 and according to the instruction cards there are over 1000 picture combinations. The first game is a simple one of matching different heads to bodies. In the second game the cards are dealt with the picture faces downwards. The players must not look at the face side and when the cards are all dealt the player to the left of the of the dealer turns their card face up in the centre of the table. After that each player (in their turn) must turn a card over and fit a "body" to the "head" in quick succession. The third game is played with the puzzles on the back of the cards. There are 6 puzzles to this game in sets of 8, each one more difficult than the last, until the last one depicting "Grandfather and his Whiskers". |

There are 44 illustrated cards each one with a word in the top left hand corner and the object of the game is to make a complete proper sentence.
