Walter Crane
Born in Liverpool he moved to London to become an apprentice in an engraving firm. He illustrated a quantity of books for Mrs Moleworth, and a series of "Aunt Mavor" and "Sixpenny Toy Books" for Warne and Routledge. He went onto become an influential artist/designer and a friend of William Morris.
