Her best known work, "Down the Snow Stairs", published in 1887 by Blackie is often compared to Lewis Carroll but if read properly will be seen to stand on its own merits. It is illustrated by Gordon Browne, who also illustrated another of her works, "Margery Merton's Girlhood", released 4 years later by the same publisher.
