Anthony Buckeridge
Having been a teacher in a prep school, he started his literary career writing plays for BBC Radio. His later radio scripts that featured the schoolboy "Jennings" went onto become a popular series of books. The first and most desirable was "Jennings Goes to School" which was published in 1960 by Collins. He also wrote four novels based in a Grammar school with the eponymous hero Rex Millligan.
